  • Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) helps by gently stimulating the lymphatic system, which reduces swelling, removes excess fluids, and enhances the body’s natural detoxification process. It can aid in reducing inflammation, promoting healing after surgery or injury, and supporting overall immune health.   • The benefits of Breast Cancer Rehabilitation include but are not limited to reducing post-surgical pain, shoulder joint and tissue restrictions, managing scar tissue and supporting the nervous system.  Additionally, it enhances physical and emotional well-being, empowering individuals to regain strength and confidence during their recovery journey.

  • Lymphatic Cording or axillary web syndrome( AWS) refers to a ropelike structure that develops mainly under the axilla (armpit) but can extend into the arm and/or past the elbow.  Yes, this complication is treatable with manual therapy and home care.

  • Seroma is the abnormal accumulation of serous fluid in a dead space containing plasma and lymphatic fluid. It is a common postoperative complication, particularly in breast cancer and plastic surgery. Seroma is typically treated via compression. Please see your surgeon for assessment.

  • I do not do decongestive Therapy (CDT), bandaging and compression. Please see a certified Lymphedema Therapist for this. I can however support with referral. Please fill out the contact form for further discussions before booking if you have been diagnosed but have not  yet seen a Lymphedema Therapist.

  • Yes. Evidence shows early scar support with MLD is helpful but a scar can be worked on at anytime regardless of how old your scar is.

  • Yes! In treatment, we just work around the drains. 

  • The soonest to come between  4-6 weeks post surgery as everyone heals a little differently. Manual lymph drainage in earlier stages is well supported and the modality of choice.
